How to get to the Island of Elba

Car ferries leave Piombino almost hourly for Portoferraio in the summer season. There aredaily ferries to Cavo and Rio Marina. The main shipping companies are ToremarBlu Navy and Moby Lines). The crossing Piombino-Portoferraio takes one hour. A hydrofoil service (no cars) takes 35 minutes.

Getting to Elba by car

From the North of Italy: from Milano take the A1 motorway, change to the A15 at Parma Ovest to join the A12 Genova-Livorno exit later at Rosignano. Continue on dual-carriageway as far as right-hand sign to ” Venturina/Isola d’Elba”. Continue on the main road until you reach Piombino Marittima/Portoferraio.

From the North -East: Take the A1 motorway Bologna-Firenze-Pisa-Livorno exit later at Rosignano and continue as above.Alternatively: take the S.G.C. (not a motorway but a good road) Firenze-Pisa-Livorno, exit at Firenze Scandicci and follow the main road as far as Collesalvetti. At Collesalvetti re-join the motorway and exit at Rosignano, then dual carriageway as above down to Piombino.

From the South: Take the A12 Roma-Grosseto, continue on the main road “the Aurelia”: exit at Venturina-Isola d’Elba then follow as above for Piombino.

Getting to Elba by plane

The closest international airport is Pisa, only 1.30 hours from us by train or car, which is very well supplied. In summertime, Lugano is connected directly to the Elba airport. The airline serving the island of Elba is SilverAir. Airport is 15 km far away from our hotel in locality La Pila.

The train station of Piombino Marittima is 50 meters far to the ferries departures. For timetable see www.trenitalia.it

How to reach Hotel from Portoferraio

The Hotel is located in Marina Marina. After go ashore take direction “Procchio – Marciana Marina” ( SP24 ). Once in Marciana Marina (about 15 Km) turn right before the gas station. Thus reach the seafront, turn left and follow it around to the end: Via Aldo Moro is the last street on the left.
